Cyprus is on the edge of Asia, and the country as a whole is one of the hottest destinations in the Mediterranean. The whole country enjoys well over 300 sunny days every year with two thirds of the rain falling during the winter. December through to March tend to be wet rather than cold, although on average you can still expect a fair bit of sunshine. In the summer months temperatures can reach 40 degrees Celsius - something to be aware of if you're planning strenuous activities such as walking or hiking. Generally speaking, Latchi benefits from a sea breeze on very hot days, and heading into the Troodos Mountains will provide further relief from high temperatures.
The average temperature is around 12 degrees Celsius, although readings can drop to around 7 degrees on cooler days. The sea is still very warm at around 16 degrees Celsius, although this is nothing compared to the height of summer, and around 10cm of rain will fall through the month. On average, you can expect 5-6 hours of sunshine per day. More than half the rain that falls in a year in Cyprus will fall at this time of year.

Typically skies in July and August will be free of any cloud cover whatsoever, making this an incredibly hot time of year. It is almost certain not to rain in July - any precipitation is likely to be in the form of extremely brief and scattered showers, bringing only a few millimetres through the whole month. You can also expect 11-12 hours of sunshine every day - ideal for sunbathing and beach holidays.
